No, and it's worth being straight about it: Tintero gives you the structure and a references folder to keep bibliography and sources as notes, but it does not generate citations or format them in APA, Chicago or IEEE. If you use a reference manager, keep using it and write here.
Will it handle a four-hundred-page manuscript?
Yes, because it isn't one document. The manuscript is spread across documents per chapter or section and the editor only loads the ones you have open, so the total size doesn't slow it down.
Where does my data end up?
On your device. If you turn sync on, it's stored encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Your content is not used to train AI models and is not shared with third parties.
